THERE'S GOING TO BE A REMAKE?

Why oh why is this happening? Why does Disney insist on raping their own movies and my childhood. There is only one way this can be done, use original audio and CGI the *beep* out of it. The only reason this may be good is because Jon Favreau did a great job with the Jungle Book, but to cast this movie is going to be a bitch, they would honestly HAVE to get James Earl Jones back to play Mufasa because there is no replacing him. Morgan Freeman for Rafiki.

I'm gonna have to partially quote the Nostalgia Critic here. If the existence of a prequel, sequel, or remake is a rape of your childhood, you never had one to begin with. If you don't want to see this, don't, the original will always be there for you.

What's even the point? At least with their other remakes were of fairy tale stories, anyway, which are always getting new versions made of them. This is just superfluous and unnecessary.

There's no way this works without bringing back the original cast.

Unfortunately, yes.

I think we should get Benedict Cumberbatch as Scar. That would be cool casting. :)

He's already been replaced in The Lion Guard. I suspect his voice has aged a little too much, though I might be wrong.

Could Matthew Broderick play the dad this time round?
