Technically scar wasn't lying to Simba

When Simba had Scar cornered at the Cliff, he blamed the hyenas saying it was their idea to kill Mufasa.

He was technically right about this. After Mufasa saved Simba and Nala from them,
Scar gets mad, and one Hyena says, "what are we suppose to do? Kill Mufasa?"
And Scar says "precisely!"

reply

Except that his response was far more "it took you this long to figure it out" than "oh hey, that's a great idea". In any case, it's a poor attempt to shift the blame, made doubly poor by the fact that Scar had already admitted to murder.

That question was meant sarcastically, because they didn't seriously think Mufasa could be killed. When Scar says "Precisely", he does so as a way of introducing his serious idea that Mufasa could and will be killed.

You are right about that, but Simba didn't say why should I believe you everything you ever told me was a lie. All in Simba's mind that could have been a lie too, even through we the audience know it was one of the Hyenas' ideas, or at least asked the question.

Didn't you see my post? The hyena's question was meant sarcastically, they didn't seriously plan to kill Mufasa, it was all Scar's plan.

reply

I believe the hyenas asked the question rhetorically when he asked if they were suppose to kill Mufasa but the way Scar said "precisely" sort of indicated he was planning it even before the hyenas asked it in a somewhat sarcastic/rhetoric way.

I believe that you would be right and it does sound like way when Banzi asks "what are we supposed to do kill Mufasa"?
