Simba’s mother was Sarabi (voiced by Madge Sinclair).
**SPOILERS TO FOLLOW**
She survived to the very end of the film and helped to lead the lionesses’ attack against Scar and the hyenas when Simba returned to Pride Rock.
As an interesting piece of trivia, Madge Sinclair, who voiced Queen Sarabi and James Earl Jones, who voiced King Mufasa, also played the Queen and King of Zamunda in Eddie Murphy’s “Coming to America”.
I heard that James Earl Jones suggested her for the role.
