There's just something about this film that makes me not hate it

The main leads who went on to actual careers are just plain watchable in this film. Renee Zellwegger is lovely and has a solid final girl role. The member of the clan with all the random quotes....just ok I liked that. The storyline in the last half is just so dang odd. It makes no freaking sense, but held my attention.

All that aside, the cinematography, lighting, & sound...are all alright.

In short, this is not a good movie, but its not a total disaster like some reviews say. Just how ofdd it is makes it not a disaster.

The oddness of it is part of the reason I love it so much. There's seriously not any other movie like it at all.

Agree. I was just watching this a few minutes ago. It's very strange. And how Darla can remain so lackadaisical and calm knowing what's going on and reassuring. I think Heather went through hell. I wonder how Darla and Heather didn't go on to other films much. Their pictures aren't even up on their profiles. But I do agree that Matthew and Renee are fun to watch now that I think of it. They both did good.

It's my favorite Texas Chainsaw film aside from the original, which a lot of people can't understand when I tell them, but I just freaking love this movie. Great atmosphere, wacky beyond belief— it's like a postmodern reenactment of Hooper's original film. I'm a longtime fan, loved it for over a decade now.

I just binge-watched 1-4. After the horrible pt 2 and the forgettable pt 3, I wasn't expecting much. This one is frikkin' awesome! A solid 7.5! Matches the overall insanity of the original quite well. Matthew should be proud, plus we got the trademark "alright alright alright". Great movie!
