Why is this not on DVD?

Easily, the best Spider-Man cartoon and it is unavailable to purchase on DVD

I liked the first few episodes of Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

You can buy dvds at wal-mart that have four episodes on them. I think there are four or five of those dvds(that have the four episodes). You can also go on ioffer.com and get the whole series for cheap. The ioffer.com stuff is bootleg but the quility is good. I dont know why they are waiting to release the dvds. The x-men were released last year in seasons, so hopefully soon for spiderman.

Thanks. Are there any special features on the DVDs

I liked the first few episodes of Spartacus: Blood and Sand.

reply

Yes. All the dvds have their own special features. On the one titled The Ultimate Villain Showdown, it has four episodes of the 90's show but on the special features it has one episode of the 60's animated show. It also has interactive menus. The special features are actually pretty good on each disc. You can get them at wal-mart for 7.50 or cheaper on ebay or amazon.

reply

Thanks. Going to look for them on Amazon right now.

I think some of the Spidey 90's cartoon dvd's are available on Ebay and FYE too

reply

Better stay away from iOffer and other doubtful market places, the DVDs are mostly bootlegs and thus illegal to sell or purchase.

Why don't you order the series from amazon.co.uk? All 5 seasons have been released on DVD, no special features though. It's Region 2 PAL, so make sure your player is capable of playing it.

reply

why the hell won't the release these in the US? I really don't get it!

how's the quality of these PAL versions?

reply

I have a Philips DVD player & it can play PAL/NTSC & every video file format made.

For stuff that will not play I just copy it & remove protection & store the originals somewhere safe.

PAL actually is a small bit higher quality image than NTSC. I have bought 4 Philps players in the last 10 years & only 1 has failed. I have DVD's with all 4 Alien movies on 1 DVD 4.3 gig & it looks about as good as VHS. This is fine for me cause most of the old stuff I like is not yet or never will be available on HD-DVD.

reply

I decided to buy the whole series bootlegged. I don't think they're ever going to release the whole show on dvd in the U.S. They didn't even release another few episodes for the new movie.

the whole series is available in the UK. I've seen it in several video shops while visiting here. I don't get why they don't do the same in the US

reply

Because Disney is one of the WORST companies when it comes to DVD releases of TV shows.
Either they don't release a show at all (Spider-Man), release some of it and then never release the rest (Gargoyles), or release the whole show but the DVDs are so poorly produced that DVD players have a hard time playing them AND they have horrible sound problems (X-Men)!

reply

I don't know actually. It is stupid to not release a show for some unknown dumb reason when you know that it will get tons of sales.

reply

First off, I just wanted to say this was the best cartoon series on Fox Kids.

Secondly, it's available for streaming on Netflix! I thought I'd never get to rewatch this show!

reply

unfortunately, for most of us,netflix is prohibited, since it's a US only thing. But youtube has it,so downloading it from youtube is one way,or torrents, just more work to do oneself, but worth it.

reply

JUST GET EM OFF THEPIRATEBAY LIKE I DID

reply

I agree it should be on DVD...It is in the UK...and Germany...

reply

It's seriously the only option available. Stupid Disney or whoever.

reply

Hulu plus has it now along with the 90's X-men and X-Men Evolution
