This show is why I love Venom

While the majority of people who love Venom do so because hes an "evil Spiderman" or looks cool, I feel that there is so much more to the character that this show conveyed amazingly.

I never saw Venom/Eddie as a bad guy, I just saw him as a realistically flawed human being. Basically, he could be any one of us. He wants to hold down a job and make money, even if that means lying and being a bit of a scumbag once in a while, but he isn't a bad person. Also, from a certain point of view it is easy to sympathize with the guy and understand his hatred towards Spiderman/Peter.

Once he gets the Symbiote, he turns into once again what I'd consider to be something we've all wanted to be in the darkest corners of our minds. We've all wanted to get back at someone and be a powerful force to do as we please and carry out our own version of justice.

In addition to that, there is enough of him to be considered somewhat of a villain, although not entirely evil. This is the most interesting aspect.

The Alien Costume Pt3 episode itself almost shows Venom to be a horror/thriller antagonist. He has infiltrated Peter's social life, his home, and his alternate life as Spiderman. He has all of his strengths and little known weaknesses (until the end). This is a man who looks to torment Peter, psychologically. Not your run of the mill criminal or super villain. Even at this point in the character's development, one might still find themselves siding with him...just a little. ;)

So yeah, some people see Venom as COOL TONGUE GUY WEARING BLACK THAT SHOOTS WEBS. I see Robert Deniro in Cape Fear.

I sort of agree though he isn't portrayed that sympathetically from the start. In the first episode of the show he tries to expose Dr. Connors as the Lizard without even giving him or his family a thought. Just thinks, "I could win a pulitzer by doing this and I don't care how it effects them." To be honest they seemed to pretty much make him a cartoon version of Dick Thronburg from Die Hard 1 and 2.

Green Goblin is great! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t1L4ZuaVvaw
