How would Sandman had been adapted or depicted for this series?

Sandman was one of the villains who wasn't used in this particular Spider-Man series because James Cameron had intended on using him (along with Electro) in his live-action Spider-Man film, which ultimately never got made. Electro eventually made it very late into the series' run, but instead of Max Dillon, he was depicted as being the son of Red Skull and adopted brother of The Chameleon. Hydro-Man you could say, was used as a stand-in for Sandman.

Probably just instead of Hydro Man tbh, so roughly the same. Which would've made it weird as everyone would forever expect him to be MJ's stalker in other media, so it was a good switch. I can see why they did it besides the Cameron mandate; sand animates much less smoothly than water, and the animation in the HM episodes looked gorgeous. It would just look like dirt and there's not much you can do with it. As the movie pointed out he's either too overpowered or too easily defeated.
