So I guess a reboot series isn't for sure?
Is that correct?
shareWhen it goes into production, and they've got the actors, then you can be pretty sure it's going to happen. As long as it's in the discussion pre-production stage, anything could go wrong and shut it all down.
It seems everything is fairly close to being a go, they're just working out the details. That's all that they'll share with the public for now. Just keep an eye on Tapert & Raimi's profile pages to see if the project gets added.

it is not for sure yet. That is correct.
Keep watch on the Auxsip site and twitter and the Xena movie Campaign pages for the latest news. they will have it for very much the sure if anything develops.
💕ty all for very active Xena board.proof it's still so captivating💕
they could get to the production phase and make a pilot that is so terrible it is not picked up.
shareReboots are risky. They are way too common as it is and not sure Xena would be as successful. I loved the action and simplicity of it all. But I could see a reboot not measuring up and it would ruin the limited legacy...or it would be more commercial...or too preachy. Why not leave semi-well enough alone? It was a spinoff that did well enough to garner a small but very devoted fan base that allowed it to be remembered even 20 years after it came out. If there was more demand, they would have pushed this through a lot faster.
shareCurrently it appears they are planning a Xena tv movie, probably a la Hercules 5 movies before that became a full series. It's probably being planned that way to see if they get the numbers to give it a go ahead. It's on both Tapert and Raimi pages as that.
shareIt is a pilot script for entire season that is being prepared. The writer Javier Grille-Marxuach post about on his blog.
4. Do you have any sort of start date/timetable yet?
The network has commissioned a pilot script based on a season-long arc. We are only now beginning to put that pilot script together and the network will decide our future based on that - so we are a bit of a ways away from an air date!
So its nothing but a pilot script, which NBC may reject even before the pilot films. This happened to the Charmed reboot in 2013 when CBS only ordered a script, but it never went forward from that.
shareI hope a reboot never happens; let's instead have a Xena TV movie with Lucy and Renee - I think the fans would prefer that.
