EPISODE ABOUT THE ORIGINS OF THE AMAZONS SEASON 5

About the episode I think it's called Life Blood? It's a Season 5 episode.

WHAT THE HELL ?? THEY BROUGHT A GIRL FROM 1999 INTO THE ANCIENT PAST?

Can someone explain what that was all about? I was very confused and didn't like it at all. I know that Xena has some crazy moments but this was the one thing that I just couldn't "get" or approve of. It made no sense to have a girl from the late 90's dressed in casual clothes from the late 90's suddenly appear in the ancient past and she is trained as an Amazon and helps the Amazons fight the bad guys and help forge the Amazon nation. Who is this character? Who was the actress? She looked a bit familiar like I'd seen her in a movie from the late 90's. I also didn't like how they cast Karl Urban (Julius Caesar) in yet another role. He'd played Cupid in one episode and he is mostly associated with his role as Caesar which he did so a fantastic job with but this one role of a cave man type of guy was weird.

My first thought was that perhaps this girl won some kind of contest? LOL Was this a "you can win a walk in role on Xena" back in '99? Was she a professional actress?

I realize they did a bit of time traveling on Xena i.e. The Xena Scrolls taking place in WW 2, DE JA VU ALL OVER AGAIN and SEND IN THE CLONES taking place in present time (at that time it was either 1999 or 2000) but this was so bizarre to get a girl from modern times and suddenly she gets whisked into the middle of the conflict between the Amazons and those bad guys. The girl adapted way too easily as well and learned fast. PS what happened to her modern clothes after she became an Amazon and had to wear the Amazon clothing LOL Why did they even introduce this character? LOL

I did not like this episode at all and for me it gets the vote for worst episode of Xena.
