Was Jim Carrey signed on for future films?

The Riddler survives at the end and his costume is seen inside Arkham in Batman & Robin, so was he intended to come back for a future installment in the series with Jim Carrey continuing the role?

I DON'T KNOW...BUT MICHAEL JACKSON WANTED THE ROLE BAD...AND ROBIN WILLIAMS TURNED IT DOWN.

I've never heard he was signed on for more, but I'm pretty sure the makers would have been considering getting him back at some point if things had played out differently.
