The first several times watching the bar robbery scene in Casino, I thought it was in Chicago (because of the "back home reference"), but then I noticed the warehouse where they stuck ice picks in his balls and stuck his head in a vice had slot machines in the background.
Was the bar robbed in Vegas or Chicago?

In real I thought it happened in Chicago..buT def Vegas in the movie. It happened in real life long before they were in vegas. Charlie M...was one of the 2 guys from the M n m murders. Spilotro wanted the name of the other guy who was with him when they killed without permission. Spilotro found frank cullato who sold the guns to the 2 guys..but frank just gave up the one guy. Tony tortured him for days and his eye ball really did pop out in the vise. At that point he gave up the name. Tony said that guy was toughest person he'd ever met. Once he gave up the name Tony killed him n killed the other guy. They were found in the trunk of a car in Chicago.
