Simply the finest expression of cinematic art

A perfect film.

By no means perfect but I did give it a 9 out of 10 and it is probably in my top 10 films all time, so nearly there.

As an expression of cinematic art it works very well and I am not surprised because Mike Figgis is a massive fan (or at least was) of Jean-Luc Godard and he is 'cinematic art'.

No, not at all. It's obvious that the writer or director wanted to add some drama so they put in the rape scene which doesn't match with the rest of the film or even make much sense. As if the girl's situation wasn't bad enough already
