What a movie!

I just watched this movie again and it was even better this time around! I'm a pretty old guy and I found myself crying like a freakin' baby at the end. Heck, even a couple of times before that.

I don't really have anything earth-shattering to say other than I highly recommend this flick and I'll probably watch it again next time it's on.

Calvin? Wh... Why do you keep calling me Calvin?

Thank you to the tax paying citizens of Minnesota for the great education I got at Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. Including great Band Instructor Mr Moriarity, great speech program, and Life Coaches Mr. Thell & Johnston. And others too numerous to name!

I love this movie too... and it makes me cry (more than once) every time I see it.

It is a very good film because it is not like some of these other teacher films where it takes place over one year and the teacher goes into the classroom full of nuts and teaches them in an unconventional way and they all become geniuses. Here we see that teaching goes on for many years and students come and go. These characters live through events in history and we see how they are affected by it. Mr. Holland also adapts his teaching as he goes on, I'm sure. We also see the different generations of students outside school and the different styles they all have.
