I authenticate "Juliet"

When General McClintock is engaging in radio traffic with Viper One the code they use to authenticate their communication is "Juliet", which is just the letter j in military speak.

So the password for the most top secret mission in the history of domestic defense is.... "j".

Seriously? This could mean my stripe! 😞

It wasn't the "Password to the mission"
It was authenticating the caller as being genuine rather than someone unauthorized on the radio.

What they were using was radio authentication procedures. The station being called will ask them to authenticate and use a two letter code, "Charlie Hotel" for example. The station calling and getting authenticated has to look up those two C and D, cross referenced them on their code table, and give the single letter response (Such as Juliet).
The tables and codes are changed daily and are one time use only.
