Buffy the vampire slayer and Demon knight

anyone notice the smiliairties between background stories.in Buffy Giles(played by Tony head) said the Earth was INHABITED by the old ones,ancient demons.Brayker said the earth was inhabited by demons.the only thing that keep them from being the same was the keys in demon knight.

A lot of these ideas seem to be copied from old mythology and religions. Similair stories with the same ideas. It basically boils down to the idea of a conflict between good and evil.
