although not my favourite Carrey film.. i have to respect that HE just didn't feel like playing the same goofy dude he became famous for.

also since 1996 he's landed quite a few GOOD roles:
Liar, Liar (1997)
The Truman Show (1998)
Bruce Almighty (2003)
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
Yes Man (2008)

for me Truman Burbank IS the best Carrey = )

Liar Liar, Truman Show, Me Myself & Irene, Bruce Almighty, and countless other movies that have continued to make him filthy rich would prove otherwise. And The Cable Guy is a thinking man's comedy. Not for dolts like your dad.
