Should have ended soon after they crashed

Don't get me wrong I thought this was a really good movie but Walden's group really shouldn't have survived long after they crashed. They're in a little pit and they're unable to move because Rady is hurt bad and unconscious. All the enemy would have to do is toss or launch grenades and they are done for. I mean they know Walden's group is just sitting in that pit for HOURS, not to mention all night, and not moving or unable to move. The whole time I was watching the scenes in the pit I was thinking, why doesn't the enemy just use grenades or explosives? I don't believe any enemy could be that dumb. And to make it even more silly, when morning comes and the fighting resumes the enemy starts using explosives! I know the filmmakers needed them to stay alive so the internal conflict between the group could play out but that location of the wide open pit makes it's highly unlikely. But it was still a great movie!

But you have to remember, "We're a hell of a lot smarter, we have better weapons and we're better trained" LMHO.

Actually something very similar to this happened during desert storm, but it was a Special Forces team that was behind enemy lines. and it wasn't a chopper crash, but they where on a recon mission and had their position compromised.

That was my first thought when the group was pinned down in an open pit. DON'T THE IRAQIS HAVE GRENADES?! Just one RPG would probably have ended it. Of course then we wouldn't have a movie. If this had been real life, they would have been wiped our fairly quickly, but again, this is Hollywood.
