Cactus in the presidents control room?
In the control room where they are monitoring Snake.. There are pottd cactus plants everywhere.
Did I miss a reason for that, or were they random (really random!) Props?
they were stacy keach's cacti. he waters them in the beginning.

It's kinda funny, seeing a gruff military guy spritzing a potted plant with his little spray bottle. But then the cactus had to stick around long after the gag to prevent continuity issues. That's how I always figured it at least.
