Get Quentin Tarantino to direct Escape III

I wish theyd forget doing a PG13 reboot directed by the latest music video guy or Wiseman or Paul WS Anderson starring someone like the Tron Legacy guy or G Butler that wont make any money

Ideally Carpenter should come back but he probably dosnt want to do it (aside an exec producer role), but QT would be perfect to do the 3rd (R rated) Escape movie – The Escape world always felt very Tarantinoesque (esp LA no doubt influenced by QTs movies like QTs were influenced by Carpenters), hes a big fan of Carpenters, hes currently directing Russell in Hateful 8 (and obviously they did Deathproof) plus QT has yet to do a SF movie, and isnt above doing a sequel to another series (Django). Needn't be Escape from Earth either as the ending of EFLA could be undone with a throwaway line. Set it in NY again (and a bit in LA), but not so much of a remake of EFNY as EFLA.

Cast could be - Kurt Russell (Snake), Keith David (Lee Van Cleef/Stacey Keach role), SLJ (crazed religious nut), Travolta (main villain – an ex Special Force buddy of Snakes who betrayed him), Michael Madsen (supporting villain another ex SF guy who worked with Snake), De Niro (Cabbies younger bro?), Steve Buscemi (Map to the Stars Eddie), Bruce Campbell (Surgeon General of BH), Robert Forster (as the pres)

Anybody who wants Tarantino to direct Escape III doesn't understand what makes the Escape films what they are. That overrated douche Tarantino would ruin it.

Who says violence is not the answer?

There will never be a Escape 3. There was one planned with Carpenter and Russell called Escape from Earth that was suppose to bring some space scifi stuff to the series but after L.A was poorly recieved and didn't do well in the Box Office, Earth was scrapped. Kind of wish they did make it because maybe they could have decided to go back and rework Escape 3 to make it worth it. Even if they do decide to work on Escape 3 now (which won't happen) there was already a interview with both Kurt Russell and John Carpenter where they were asked if there would be a Escape 3. Carpenter said if someone else makes it there will be but he rather enjoys his retirement from filmmaking while Russell said that its too late now and he is 99.9% sure he will never return to the character even if he was asked to come back because he sees Snake Plissken as a young character that seems ageless and at his age theres no way he could convince Snake is a badass at over 60 years old. He would like to remember Snake as a young as he was in the films. He said that .1% would be if there was a really clever and intelligent way Snake could return at the old age and make it work. Kurt Russell doesn't seem to be one to cave in for money either otherwise he would have taken part in movies he declined like Expendables. He seems to like his characters and if he doesn't see a good enough reason for Snake to return he won't do it at all. If someone presented him with amazing Escape 3 script that made Snake's age work I am sure he will take it. In that same interview Carpenter said that despite what Russell just said he would actually like to see a older Snake Plissken appear in a future film played by Russell.
