If Carpenter had took story cues from AOP13 instead EFNY...

I actually have a soft spot for EFLA, a can't deny that its entertaining but yep the darkness and grit are gone from he first.

A major fault people point to is the ludicrous idea of the sequel being more of a rehash of the concept from 'Escape from New York' than a progression of the character. C'mon man Snake is a futuristic outlaw in a dystopian America. So much potential for all kinds of futuristic western scenarios.

But if Carpenter had done the premise of 'Assault on Precinct 13' I'd have found that more interesting. Obviously in this case Snake would take Napoleon Wilson's place. The Gang; 'Street Thunder', Would be like the crazies from the first film. Prescient 13 would be a USPF base.
