How come Snake...

...Never gets to kill the main villain in both movies? In the first movie, the President killed the Duke, and in this one, Eddie killed Cuervo.

Why would he? He obviously doesn't give a *beep*

He's the main character, he should have killed the villain of both movies.

Wouldnt the world be less interesting if you knew everything that was going to happen?

I didn't mind Snake not killing the Duke. After all he did to the President I think he deserved to finish him off more than Snake. Donald Pleasance was brilliant in that scene.

The main reason...

Snake is a true lone wolf who doesn't give a damn about any side but his own. However, he certainly holds a grudge against anyone who forced/blackmailed him or stabbed him in the back. lol

Now, neither the Duke nor Cuervo had a personal beef with him. He was being blackmailed to do a job, they had an obligation to themselves to keep him from doing it and he really couldn't fault them for that or see them as "enemies". It was almost like a mutual respect I guess.

Pleasance's president didn't come of as particularly evil at least to me. Maybe a little too preoccupied with politics but no more evil than that anyway. lol

He used Snake as bait, preventing him from climbing up the wall so he could distract Duke and get the drop on him. Between that and being the leader of an out of control police state, he's evil enough imo

That's why the Snake movies are so great, they do not follow the formula that the other 99% of Hollywood productions do.
