Snake's gait?

Posted this on the NY forum as well:

This goes for both LA and NY, but I always find Snake's fast walking style while in custody a little fascinating. I imagine most people would attempt to go slower and make the guards force them forward in an effort to prolong their freedom/life, but Snake instead seems to hurtle himself full throttle towards whatever fate awaits him. Has their been any mention as to why Carpenter/Russell had Snake walk in this manner?

Thread_Killer_of_IMDb is out there. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until your post is dead.

Dunno the official story, but Snake is probably tired of living in a world full of *beep* and would rather just get out of here. He'd rather stick to his principles and buck the establishment right to the end, than start living in fear of something. Walking like that is a massive middle-finger to those who think he should be cowed and fearful like everyone else.
Also, it scares them a little. Wouldn't you be scared of someone with his rep who isn't fazed by death, but instead rushes to meet it? The man must be a fraking loony, to be sure!!

Course, he's not suicidal in truth. Give him the slightest opportunity to either exploit for his freedom or to further buck the establishment (like, I dunno, a suicide mission) and he'll take full advantage of that, too!

If I had to guess I'd think it's just movie timing: Carpenter didnt wanna waste time on him walking so that they could get to the good stuff (meanwhile the 'good stuff' often takes longer than it should, through slow mo effects and such)

Cuz Snake is that badass. He walks as fast as he wants.

What I found funny about how Snake walked in THIS movie...he couldn't seem to bend his knees. When I think badass walk...I don't imagine someone walking stiff-legged. lol In fact, I imagine the exact opposite type of person to walk like that i.e. a 'dork' a la "Revenge of the Nerds".

Although, by the time this movie was made and the fact that Russell was an athlete in his youth, I wouldn't be surprised if this stiff walk was due to bad knees, gout or some other similar athletic affliction on Russell's part. It still doesn't look very Snake-like imho though.

Watch your tongue, boy, if you like this job.

Given the location of his tattoo, I think we're to assume the 'Snake' is in his pants. Maybe that's why it's so difficult for him to walk. lol
