Something I dont get...?

The scene where Shelley is having lunch with Guinilla and the maid takes the plate from shelley an Guinilla says "are you done?" and Shelley says "Oh..yes" and then Gunilla mutters to the maid "take the fork" and Shelley looks at her blankly then Guinilla shouts "fork!"
Can someone please explain this scene to me as i dont understand it.

I was just thinking of this scene and how much it makes me laugh. I think that Shelley likes to think of herself as a member of the rich elite like Guinilla, but clearly she is an airhead and does not have Guinilla's manners or etiquette. The maid was waiting for the fork and Shelley was being ditsy, so Guinilla told her what the maid wanted. I don't exactly remember the complete scene and all that was said, but I hope I was helpful.

Well, I think Gunilla was afraid that Shelley may put the fork in her purse? It was maybe a rare fork, a heirloom?!

Hey! I just finished watching the movie . . . If you notice Shelly is swinging the fork about, and even stabs the table with it . . . My guess is that she (Gunilla) wants it out of her (shelly's) hands the same way a mom wants a pair of scissors taken away from her two year old . . .

Great movie, by the way . . .

No No NO! When you are educated, people teach not to speak with a fork, knife, spoon on your hands. It's bad taste! when you finish what you're eating you put it in your plate and that's it. it's as awful as eating with your mouth open.

If you are eating a multiple course meal you get a new utensil for each course. Not only does the plate (or bowl) for each course get taken away, but the untensil for that course does as well. Shelly obviously didn't know this so she had to be told to give up her fork.

You don't even have to be educated lol, I was no mensa scholar at 4 when I learned that one :)
Just shows how much class Shelley REALLY has.

She was afraid that she could steal her silverware, being a golddigger with no manners

No, the correct answer is above, this was the salad fork and the little vulgarian was planning to use it for the next course, not to pick up the dinner fork that was sitting right there by her left hand.

vulgarian?

reply

Yes.
