Casting...very disappointed

I hope I'm not offending anyone when I say that quite frankly, I think the role of Jane Eyre should have gone to someone capable of conveying the passion and actual PERSONALITY of Jane Eyre instead of Gainsbourg who, although sufficiently "plain" in appearance, was woefully inadequate in conveying the incisive wit and paradoxical vibrant yet somewhat "austere" personality of the character... Gainsbourg was unable to explore the complexities of Eyre's character that humanize her and yet make her intriguing.

I think this film could have been immensely improved with a successful Jane Eyre (as well as better and more scenes between rochester and eyre which the film seemed to leave out in chunks)
