This adaptaion

I love this movie. I downloaded it from the web a couple of weeks ago and have watched it half a dozen times. I can live with William Hurt plying the lead.
Charlotte Gainsburg is sensational as Jane. It would have been easy for her, because she was just basically being herself.
I am a bit of a softy when it comes to theses movies. Many a time I had a tear in my eye. It seems like a simple story, but you have to take note of things that happen throughout, so you are up with it toward the later half of the film.
But then if you know the story, you will already know that.
But it is worth a look for Charlotte's performance, if nothing else.
She is one of the most dignified French actresses of her time. (if you forget Antichrist)
