does an1 else think that shes pretty? i thought she was when she played jane eyre

Well, she is meant to be plain. But its the movies, people. She has got a certain something.. i admit. She is pretty.

I think Charlotte is pretty. I like her.

I don't think she's really gorgeous, but she certainly has something.

I also think that Jane Eyre wouldn't be found ugly today. The whole beauty standard thing has changed...same for Mr Rochester.

Charlotte is definitely my favourite Jane Eyre (up until now).

Well this is one of the rare few novels where a plain woman get's the attention of a handsome man. It's always the typical handsome man falling in love with the beauty and just because of that one and only trait. "Jane Eyre" has been a breath of fresh air so to speak. When this novel was published, I think it was kinda of a scandal or something because it portrayed a plain young woman instead of a beautiful one as the "heroine", kudos to Charlotte Bronte for taking a chance.
And the woman who played Jane Eyre in this version..Charlotte Gainsbourg has very unique features, so yes she is pretty.

you are forgetting something... plain doesnt just mean ugly it means that the person has no particular feature on their looks but they are not ugly. you all seem to just say she was 'plain'.

i havent read the book yet, but i just saw the movie and i thought rochester dude was gonna go w/ that biatchy blond lady, and the whole thing about his wife, i was like WHAT!!! and that whole laughing thing really freaked me out!! when jane woud here laughing or something in that wierd hallway....freaky
