how did the woman die? i know she died when she was making them breakfast i remember she was coughing. was she sick?

Heart attack I think, though I'm not sure that she is really dead because she shows up at the end of the movie dancing with Michael.

Well isn't she dead because after Michael, they're reunited?

She is dead during that scene. When Michael says "lets go home" he obviously means back to heaven. Plus the fact they both dance off together and fade away into white light.
