The TV newsmagazine special

Does anyone remember after this came out, there was a Dateline or 20/20 or something about this movie?

I watched this lengthy deal about how these real women had copied the movie and committed a bank robbery or 2. It was all about how the violent imagery was corrupting the youth etc.

So those real women did copy the movie, but this was used as like a statement of, "if you see it, you will do it." One thing I thought was funny when I recently watched it, is how bad of an example they set, and mostly don't get away with it. Nothing about this movie sends the message that it was a good way to make money
except Stoney driving off into the sunset scot-free that is.
