Rank the TNG movies with Star Trek: Picard Season 3 included.

Since season 3 of Star Trek: Picard was essentially an 8 hour TNG movie, I think it's appropriate to include it in any rankings of the movies. I should note I actually like the TNG movies more than most fans, as they've become pretty popular to bash. There will be lots of spoilers.

1. Star Trek: Picard Season 3- What a fantastic send off for the TNG crew. This was epic sci-fi that superbly combined engrossing storytelling, great characterizations, emotional drama, thrilling action and adventure, and wonderfully effective fan service and nostalgia. The entire cast brought their A-game (Jonathan Frakes has never been better as Riker), and newcomer Todd Stashwick nearly stole the show as Captain Shaw. The reactivation of the Enterprise D may become my all-time favorite scene in ST history, and the variation on the TNG theme played during that scene is goosebump-inducing. The soundtrack for the entire season was magnificent. 10/10.

2. Star Trek: First Contact - Definitely the best of TNG's big-screen outings, First Contact is a fast-paced and thrilling mix of sci-fi, action/adventure, and horror. After delivering some of the best action in ST history for the first 75 or so minutes (the big space battle is terrific and the encounters with the Borg in the ship and on the hull are intense and nail-biting), the final confrontation does feel a little anti-climactic, but it's made up for with a moving and awe-inspiring first contact encounter with the Vulcans at the end. 9/10.

3. Star Trek: Generations - I think this is one of most underrated Star Trek films that delivers a thought-provoking and emotionally resonant story along with some exciting action and adventure. It's beautifully shot and features great f/x that hold up very well. The thing that slightly sours it for me is the death of James Kirk. If not for that moment, I might hold this up as high as First Contact. 8/10.

4. Star Trek: Insurrection - I actually think Insurrection is fun and enjoyable to watch. A lot of its humor worked for me, and the pacing and tone is fairly breezy from start to finish and the locations are gorgeous. But I do agree that there isn't nearly enough merit and debate given to Admiral Dougherty's side of the argument. The special effects actually look worse than those in First Contact and Generations, primarily because those two earlier films still mostly utilized miniatures and models where as Insurrection went full CGI, which hasn't aged as well. 7/10.

5. Star Trek: Nemesis - I think Nemesis is a totally watchable sci-fi action film, but as the then "final" adventure of the TNG crew, it's pretty lacking. The basic plot just feels so cliched and tropey, "Picard meets his young clone, who's evil!" The Remans feel awkwardly introduced, and it's odd that for a story about finding an earlier version of Data and Picard having a tough time dealing with a villainous counterpart, Lore is never brought up and neither is Riker's transporter twin who became a terrorist. It also takes a long time to get going, though when it does, the action does entertain, with a particularly effective climactic space battle that takes up 30-minutes of screen time and blows and crashes stuff up real good. In the end, I'm glad this wasn't the last time we saw the TNG crew. 6/10.

1) FC: still the greatest TNG movie. I mean its almost up there with Wrath of Khan!

2) STP s3: incredible follow up to FC, the 5th TNG film we didnt get but even better as its an 8 hour movie!! (My Picard s3 thoughts here https://moviechat.org/tt8806524/Star-Trek-Picard/659bf7154607030bf27f6963/finally-watching-s3)

3) GEN: I know its not great but I still kind of love it, so much big Trek stuff happens (ToS/TnG crossover, Ent B, Kirk meets Picard, Ent D destruction, Kirks death)

4) NEM: Seems to have got better as time goes on (maybe bc STP has referenced it so much and made it so important in the canon)

5) INS: I hate this movie. Worst if the entire ST films
