And I was reminded of this film while thinking about the anarchy in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. These kind of events could happen anywhere...

When I saw this on the big screen in 1996, "The Trigger Effect" seemed pretty far-fetched. But since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks and Hurricane Katrina, I think the chaos and paranoia it portrays seem right on the mark.

Now look at Japan after the nuclear meltdown, everybody was chill and orderly, unlike katrina.
