THE TWILIGHT ZONE HOMAGE...

Did anyone else notice the Homage to "THE TWILIGHT ZONE" in this film? There's a part where Koep Zooms in on a street post. One street's name is Whilloughby(excuse my spelling). The other's is Maple St. These of course are the names of two streets in two classic episodes of the Zone. "Next Stop, Whilloughby". Where a man gets on a train that takes him back to witness his youth. And, "The Monsters are do on Maple St." One of my absolute Favorites, and the episode which I think inspired this movie to an extent, in which a suburban neighborhood looses its electricity among other modern capabilities for an entire day. The neighbors, who are all normally friends, begin to accuse each other of being from another planet. I love that he threw the streets in there the way he did. I noticed it immediately. Rod Serling would be proud. The Trigger Effect is a very underrated film that shows the limits of human civility when put to the test.

The Moderators actually got that Tidbit from me. I posted that WAY before they put that into the trivia section.

Call me crazy, but I thought that was there prior to 2005. Anyhow, shine on you crazy diamond.

I didn't make the connection at first. In an opening scene, the camera seems to linger on the street sign for so long that I thought there must be some significance. I thought the movie had a TZ feel to it, but the connection didn't sink in until I saw this thread!

I also thought the scene in the diner was reminiscent of the TZ episode "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?".

No, no, no, Willoughby is used as a synonym for death (as it is used in TTZ). It has nothing to do with youth.
