One of the best series.

I just finished this series. It feels so odd to be done with it. I'm honestly a little sad but only because its over and I can't continue watching some of my favorite people any longer. That being said, this show was/is incredible. I'm so happy with the way everything turned out! Everything worked out like I wanted it to. :)

Me too !

Favorite moment?

reply

When Pacy and Joey finally had sex on the ski trip and she told him all the reasons she was ready

reply

I also liked when pacey punched out his dad and when his brother and jack declare their love and when pace dumps Andy

reply

Or when pacy spit in the teachers face and stuck up for jack

reply

Good ones. :)
One of mine is when Pacey watches her sleep from the rocking chair.

reply

It kinda got a bit different and weird when they got out of high school. Still good though

reply

All necessary for growth! heartcrushing moments but had to be done.

reply

I agree. There were a lot of different characters and story lines to keep track of then

reply

I miss Andie McPhee. Big hole that got glossed over in the story I reckon.

reply

I wouldn't say that. She was a great character who dealt with her issues in a healthy way. Very important moment for her. Important for viewers too. Speaks volumes if you think about it.

reply

I loved Andie and I think what she went through was one of the most important messages of Dawson's Creek.

I just think Jack and the gang got over her not being around pretty quickly.

reply

Maybe so. I didn't question it much because thats how life was for me. Someone I went to school with would move and a week or two later you would forget about it.

reply

Perhaps, I could see Pacey getting over her quickly because he was a teenage boy with a reasonable libido and Joey was coming into his radar but Jack, Jack's her brother and they were as tight as can be.

I felt her going should either have been filled in with more story or completely forgotten about but she comes back twice to remind viewers of her existence.

That and the vocabulary of the show were the only two things which irked me. The rest of it was great!

reply

I feel like once or twice Jack mentioned emails or phone calls to Andie but even if he didn't, I assumed. the vocabulary didn't bother me too much, but I know I didn't talk like that in high school.

Oh, everything was great! I love this series so much. I keep thinking about my favorite moments. I'm so incredibly happy :)

I was of the mind that they should name the show Pacey's Creek at the time but looking back I think Dawson was always the centre of the show - even when he was being a dick.

It's been a long, long time since I last saw an episode but from memory it started getting really interesting when Dawson and Joey find out that Gail, Dawson's mother, had an affair with Bob from work. That pretty much started the framework for the adult world that the kids had around them and eventually joined.

I enjoyed the vocab because it was unlike anything else on TV at the time but I really wanted to tell Joey that it's not "Persnickety" but "Pernickety" if she wishes to pedant well.

It took Dawson a while to grow on me but man, I smiled so much when he finally got his meeting. I always felt like he was the main focus. So much happened to him. He grew up so much.

That was a HOT little moment when the affair happened. I loved how juicy the show was!

I feel for anyone who makes a mistake, especially when saying something. I do that all the time.

The only thing I wish the show had done to make it slightly better would have been to have opened up Capeside beyond Dawson's house, the school, Joey's diner and the other set locations and bring Capeside a little more to life as a place where others lived.

Budgets and screen time (And actor's ages) prevented this but seeing Capeside through the eyes of an old man mowing his lawn or a bar filled with regulars or an evening with the police would have fleshed out the world a little more for me.

A really odd thing I know but the show was so rich in every other way that this is the only thing I can think of which might have made it a little richer. They could even have had it being one of Dawson's experimental films.

reply

I feel like I was living on the creek with Joey. I felt like I lived in Capeside, went to school with them, etc. I didn't need anything else but I see what you mean.

reply

I realise it's an odd thing to wish for Waitress and I know why they couldn't do it due to the restraints I mentioned earlier but a one-off episode with Dawson doing his documentary thing - and no other members of the cast - would have been a cool thing to show a fresh upbeat approach to filmmaking that was away from the regular storyline that the show is so loved for.

A boy can dream can't he?

reply

Of course a boy can! ;)
Dawson did and look how it turned out for him.

reply

Well 2008 Dawson seemed to be at peace with the world, took him a while to get there though.

reply

It took me awhile to be in a good place. I think thats natural.
