Minor Spoiler: Why all the distant family member talk????

Why does the mom always refer to Jack to Danny as "your dad" or "your daddy" just like Jack does with Wendy about Danny, "your son".

Why not "our son" and just simply "dad"

Why do they address each other like that??????

When Jack says "your son" to Wendy, pretty sure it's when he was p*ssed at Danny. When he's bad, he's Wendy's son, and when he's good he's his son. My husband and i do that with our children, but in a joking way.

I didn't really pick up on the "your dad" thing though? Was it that prominent? Again from personal experience i sporadically alternate saying 'go ask dad' and 'go ask your dad' etc. I think saying YOUR is more common with seperated parents when referring to each other to their kids. Dropping the 'your' probably feels too intimate, whereas including 'your' distances yourself from them. Good writing imo, as it shows the underlying strain in their marriage.
