(SPOILERS) Warren Westridge didn't deserve to die.

Every other character had it coming (Okay, maybe not Kari Wuhrer's character, but she didn't risk her life for the others like Westridge did.)

I thought it was sad that he made the Anaconda follow him so that he could save JLo and Ice Cube, which he did, and then got killed off.

He even saved the day when he hit Paul Serone with the bat.

And oh my god, what a performance from Jon Voight, it is not often you get to see someone in his status play such a creepy, over-the-top but funny character. He really was perfect for the movie (which wasn't that good of a movie tbh).

Yeah, I really hated that his character died. He was awesome, love Jonathan Hyde, very cool underrated actor. ๎†

What happened to that dude? You seldom hear about him anymore?

He even found time to teach somebody else how to drive the boat. Damn, yeah, he deserved to live more than the 3 that did!

It seemed like Jon Voight's character wanted to be Quint from Jaws.

I remember hoping Westridge would show up on the opposite shore with a glass of champagne at the end.

Lol good catch

I fully agree. Personally, though, I would have killed Cale because heโ€™s lying on almost half of the movie in his cabin, a hole in his throat. While others try to get rid of the psychopathic poacher (Serone) and the giant snake.
Also, I think Westridge seems to be the only one who changes the most during the film. For in the beginning, he is a annoying, strenuous, sophisticated snob. But as a few of you have already mentioned, by the end he will become a hero.
And besides, once Serone survives a damn (metallic) golf club blow (I think that blow is so powerful that it could actually have killed. Of course, the film and the plot and you just can't kill the bad guy just yet) and later he surviver a sedative for animals, a blow to his face (by Danny) and a fall into the river, so also Westridge has a great chance of surviving by that logic.
I think there was a discussion about this long time ago in IMDb as well, and someone put a pretty great what-if idea there. Of course, I grabbed it and let go of the mites for a while and came to write an Anaconda fanfic where Westridge survives and Cale, Danny and Terry come back in about a couple of decades and find Westridge, who is living with Shirishamas. Of course, I will gladly give Credits to the person who brought up this idea.

The movie, well was not very good, but not bad either and most of the actors (yeah I'm very biased) did their job one hundred percent perfectly. The one who did not do their job properly was the one who cut the movie. I mean an upside-down gravity defying waterfall. That is pretty bad, albeit a very funny mistake.

The anaconda is hardly making those moral choices about who does and doesn't deserve to live. Plus, if the film doesn't kill off at least some innocent and sympathetic characters, it loses any sense of tension, because we know who's going to live and die (which was one of my biggest gripes with the last Jurassic Park film).
