The Ending

I was half expecting maybe even hoping to see Westridge at the end because the snake abandoned him after falling from the tree. I was thinking maybe he could have been recovered by the shirashama tribe and later rejoined the team for the finale. I mean it could have worked.

I seem to recall that we see a brief shot of his dead body so I'm afraid he's gone for good.

Well, if you go by that logic, in that case Serone should have died too, twice in fact. Because in my opinion, the blow with the golf club of iron that could easely killed him or at least fracture his skull and cause serious injuries. Likewise when Serone is given an apparently strong animal tranquilizer by Cale and Danny finishes it off with an elbow to his face, causing Serone to fall into the river. Serone could have drowned there, just because he was (in reality, at least would have been and I know this was just a movie thing) in a pretty confused state after the sedative and the blow. But yes the movie, the plot etc and because the bad guy in the movie couldn't be killed yet.
And I know what part of the movie you mean, I've seen the movie so many times I know it by heart. Almost even the lines. :D
But since I like the actor (Jonathan Hyde) who played Westridge, I want to believe that Westridge survived after all. That maybe even those Shirishamas saved him, as someone once suggested in these discussions a long time ago, and from which I myself got the idea to make a fanfic, which is actually also a bit like a sequel to Anaconda. :)

And here seems to be another possible candidate to start the idea. But apparently there are probably more supporters of this idea, which I’m happy about. For clearly, I’m not the only one annoyed that Westridge was killed in the film. So kind of Westridge (or Jonathan Hyde) Fan Club? :D
But yeah, I made Anaconda Fanfic, where Westridge really survives (though not without injuries) and ends up in the care of the Shirishams and later stays with them. For a couple of decades. :)
