What a lost opportunity at the end...

Spoiler ahead...

I saw this for the first time last weekend.

So remember how John Voight is puked up by the snake towards the end and he winks at J-Lo, suggesting he's still alive?

Eric Stoltz has spent seemingly over half the movie lying around unconscious in bed on the boat due to injury.

There should have been one last attempt by a crazy Voight to grab and attack J-Lo after the snake was taken care of, only to have Stoltz finally do something useful and come up behind Voight and get rid of him once and for all - a final act by the Voight character and finally a hero moment for the Stoltz character.

It really felt like this was missing from the end, from the script. Surely the writer had thought of it and it got removed for budgetary or test-screening reasons. I laughed when I realised Stoltz was still in bed, even right before the credits ran (from memory). J-Lo comes limping in all messed up with bruises and he smiles at her coz she looks cute and messy. Sheesh!
