A great Event Horizon memory!

I remember back in 2003 I hung out with my best friend for a week or so to relax and play Pro Evolution Soccer 3 together. At one point we decided it was time to grab a quick bite and take a break from digital soccer for a while, so we got some fries and switched on the television. The first images were the opening moments of Event Horizon and my buddy was instantly curious. 'What is this? Have you seen this?', he asked. I told him I had and said that it was by far the scariest movie I had ever seen in my life. He laughed and made fun of me, calling me a sissy and a cry-baby and the like. I retorted that, as a sort of experiment, we should turn up the volume and turn off the lights and watch Event Horizon in all its glory. He agreed and ridiculed me some more.

After about an hour - which went by super fast, because the film always just grabs me - I realized I hadn't heard anything from my friend in quite a while. So I looked at him and I could see the absolute terror on his face. 'WHAT THE F#CK IS THIS?! WHAT THE F#CK IS THIS?!', he stammered in pure fear.

Ah, a golden memory. ^^

Perhaps you guys have some as well?

I saw it in the theater as a teenager, way before I got deep into science fiction. I can't say I have any crazy stories about it, but it was definitely one of the freakier movies of the time and still stands up well today, IMO.
