'Newbie' in need of advice

I'm wondering if I should buy Heavy Metal Superbit Version and Wizards or if I should get both Heavy Metals (non Superbit)? I haven't seen any of these movies.

Save your money for better movies. Wizards and both HM movies really kind of suck. The Original HM is by far NOT one of the best movies ever made.

I suggest buying wizards.

Heavy Metal is definitely worth it, although the animation techniques are dated now. However, most of the stories still hold up. Wizards is an interesting piece of work, with some great scenes, but looks even more dated, and sufered from budget problems even back in the day. If you are into fantasy, you might like it. Besides, it's about $10 or $11 at Best Buy, probably less on-ine.

Skip Heavy Metal 2000 (or F.A.K.K. 2) completely. It's a complete waste of time.

If you are interested in Ralph Bakshi, I recommend Fritz the Cat and American Pop, both excellent films.

Agree with post above.
This movie is total crap.
See above post and also grab "Fire and Ice" with Bakshi and Frank Frezetta.

dont' know whats in this superbit version, if anyone knows please tell me, also i have no idea what wizards is

however i remember watching hM original in my teens, ONLY because when i was at the video store, i saw the cover and i thought, hey look hot chick with sex scenes in it, looks nice, lmao

when i watched it it was kinda weird, very 80s (probably because it WAS made in the 80s lol)

only until this year (2008) i realised it wasn't mid 80s but 1981, no wonder it wasn't on tv.

i was 1yrs old back then, lmao (only notice the year when d/lding it)

in anycase i look back on it and it was cool, i'm more mature and appreciate the creativity, it was erotic, but sex scenes were dull, but thats to be expect for western animation, its not like its jap hentai...but thinking back to it, the short stories were amazing, very creative how the green orb spanned through different universes thus have different stories.

So yes its good, part 2 i hear on the net as being crap, i've skipped through it on my PC and yeah it looks like a empty shell of a movie with just a old school title, but what isn't these days. "they don't make things like they use to"

long story short, d/l both of them like me, waste of cash, unless your making a dvd collection...in that case you should get pt1 cheap on ebay or something.

dvd special edition of pt1 is on torrent though.
