I found it funny that the big mob boss(or his cronie Shank) shorted Mouse on an 8ball...it seems so small-time, for a big syndicate.

I agree that whole scene worked so well, very natural. Could have been any group of mates anywhere getting high together, the *beep* that comes forth !
