Plot holes and a question (spoilers).

A major plot hole was how the monster get out of the sewers and at the *beep* top of the building falling down through the windows directly in the lab? This was so absurd. I mean where the hell did it go so fast if not in the direction of the doctor and the policemen. The doctor would know the building perfectly and knew of a shortcut to outside if the monster knew one. Well supposedly the monster could climb but I don't see how it could help to get so easily to the doctor in the laboratory.

My question is how the archeologist get infected and was the monster just part of his DNA or the monster was him and if it was him indeed how did he go into the museum from you know *beep* Brazil... This is another plot hole. So he kills the whole crew before getting on the docks in USA? Well who controlled the ship and didn't called the police at the same time?! How come such a scenario was possible? Reminds me so much of Jurrassic Park 3 plot hole with the ship and killed crew... How come the crew dies and the ship still reaches it's destination? In the movie I think they said another ship found the Brazilian ship transporting the crates but when did the monster managed to escape without anybody noticing it? Seems very unlikely to me.

The archaeologist was infected when he drank the magic potion at the start.

The ship would have been found at sea by the coastguard, and towed into the port.
Once in port, the monster snuck out under cover of night and got to the coal tunnels. It can move pretty fast when it has to.
