Why was the little kid the narrator?


He narrated but didn't know about things happening in the story. He doesn't know why he had to leave the rooftop studio in such a hurry but the audience knows. I think that only really works when the narrator is a retard like Forrest Gump.

Let's not call Gump or anyone else a "Retard," please. That's out of date. But your other point is credible. The boy wasn't privy to much of the action of the film, so he shouldn't have been the character doing the narration.

"May I bone your kipper, Mademoiselle?"
