Lem + Bird's Living Situation

I was always a bit confused about this and considered it a flaw in the script.

In the beginning Lem & Bird was staying with Big Mama, even after she was hospitalized, and in the scene when Lem announced that he found a job he also said that they soon would have their own place. When Ahmad was telling everyone about the stash of money Big Mama had for him, he told Bird to meet him at Big mama's Sunday at 3 o'clock. Now if Bird and Lem had been living at Big mama's why would he tell Bird to meet him at her own house? In the next to last scene when everyone gathers at Big Mama's because of Ahmad fooling them, Bird walks in like she's visiting, not actually living there. In the last scene Ahmad narrated that Lem & Bird had found their own place.

Cut to the premier of the series....they're still living in Big Mama's house and there's no mention about them ever even having their own place.

I felt that since this was suppose to be a continuing story, that bit of information should have been addressed, but I guess the writers didn't feel it wasn't important.
