Any other movies with machines like these?

This movie sucks, but the robots are awesome. They are gross and cruel, merciless and kind of Hellraiser-ish in a way. I love the way the flesh and bodyparts of dead humans are mixed with steel and cold robotics. Too bad the rest of the movie is total crap though..

But, do you guys know if theres robots like these in other movies? Not only cyborgs and man/machine-robots (because those movies are everywhere), but when machinery and corpses are mixed together in this way.
They really inspired me as an artist and writer and I hope there's more somewhere.

Well when the Sckull thing burst out the Robo-Guys chest I could only think of Warhammer 40000, it so looked like whats known as a servo-sckull!

Check out "Hardware"

A better earlier version of this.

There's any "cyber-upgraded" zombie in Return of the living dead 3 which looks quite cool.

the one in Hardware (M.A.R.K. 13 is the name of the (only) german dvd) the killer robot isn't part human though (just a terminator-like skull). there's also a movie with Brad Dourif called 'Death Machine', which (I think) also has a robot thing like mark 13 though I haven't seen that movie, just the trailer a few years back.

I remember Hardware.
That movie was so grainy and red. It was hard to make out what was happening. My friends mom rented that for us when it first got released on VHS. I was hoping it wouldn't be another Chopping Mall.

For years I could not get that song out of my head "and we all walk...the weebly wobly walk... and we all talk, the weebly wobbly talk". I hate that song.

Thanku :), I had been trying to put a name to a film I had seen years ago (Death Machine).

The games QUAKE2 and QUAKE4.

Quake1 has an entirely different story altogether, and quake3 was purely made for internet/multiplayer & therefore doesn't have much of a story.

reply

I agree. Those are my favourites out of the series. Quake 4 is an excellent example of man/machine integration.

You may wanna check out "Runaway" with Tom Selleck and Gene Simmons or "Screamers" with Peter Weller. Both pretty good flicks.

And as far as computer games are concerned don't forget fallout tactics...

Lmao thats a very cheesy film, like the scene when the first guy gets attacked, and the rest think he is messing around.

Robocop and Robocop 2

Yes. They are Borg, resistance is futile. And, um, so was this movie.

At the risk of sounding like I'm stating the obvious: The Matrix?

Ah all the ones I could think of have been mentioned.. Even Saturn 3 suprisingly. I loved that one too, great effects especially for its time period.
Death Machine was pretty cool too and Hardware. Then theres Terminator of course, and in terms of Games theres Dead Space and the best Horror Game ever IMHO.. System shock 2.

I know theres other movies I remember.. um. The Mangler 2? Galaxy of Terror (So much better than the name)

Of all these Id say Saturn 3 reminds me most in moments to Virus, and its worth seeing for Harvy Keitels strangest role ever, and you get to see a fine nude Farrah Fawcett. =P

Actually, if you ever really watch Runaway, with Selleck, the spider robots are JUST like the ones here. And as far as human and machine, Terminator, Robocop, as everyone has already mentioned. Borg, ST: the movie, Screamers, etc. But if you look at the captain bot on the table, the hydraulics were identical to that of the Arnie Terminator. And did anyone wonder who was outside during that scene, since they were all talking to each other?(outside the aft door window).

the DVD release of Hardware that's out now is SO much better than the crappy bootlegs/older released. Very pristine video quality.

I warned you not to go out tonight
