Plot holes
1. The alien life form transmits itself from mir to the ship by satellite at the beginning of the movie. If it can do this, why not transmit itself around the world using the satellites on the ship and its incredible technical ability?
In the movie it tries to reach a British intelligence island because the island has links to satellite dishes. Wow that makes sense.
2. When Jamie Lee Curtis falls into the fuel she is able to swim in it as if she were swimming in water. Fuel is considerably less dense than water. She would have quickly sank in the fuel and drowned, not to mention that she'd be overcome by fumes.
