Isn't it remarkably similar to Saturn 3?
I'm sure there were countless elements lifted from other films, but I couldn't help notice the major similarities this film had to Saturn 3 - it was almost a remake (although not set in space, the robot is a near exact match even down to it's use of human parts and a learnt ability to speak)
