2011 Interviews with Vladimir Kulich, Antonio Banderas, John McTiernan

Looks like extras from a foreign DVD release uploaded by Vladimir Kulich himself. In five parts starting here:

McTiernan states towards the end "....the directors cut is different in several ways but I can't claim there was a magnificent movie.....difference of maybe 5, 10 minutes....maybe it's better leaving it as a myth."

Is the three hour cut a myth?

I think he was saying there was 5 or 10 minutes on top of the other excised material i.e. the Arab parts, Arab music etc. Surely the alternative cut is significantly longer? The way the actor talks about it, you'd think he's describing something with a lot more than just 5 minutes worth of changes.

Thanks for this! Always come back to 13th Warrior ever year or two, enjoy it and look for more info on what happened. So sad to hear the studio dumped it and didn't even have a premiere!

Thank you so much for sharing! It's interesting and I never knew of the conflict and interference of Crichton in the making and editing of the film. It would be nice to see a Director's Cut of this.
