'Ex beauty queen drugs overdose'
Does anyone know why this error was made in the newspaper headline? Knowing Kubrick, he probably did this on purpose, but I can't figure out why. Any ideas?

shareWhat is the error in the headline?
Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride
The word drugs is plural. It sounded like a strange way of saying it.
shareIt's the British spelling. So technically it is correct, but doesn't make sense for being in the NY Post. I'm sure Kubrick knew how to spell, so I can only conclude it's in there as another example of the film's dreamlike surface in which things don't add up and nonsensical or irrational details abound.
shareShe presumably took heroin and coke as she did with Zeigler. Drugs.
Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride
That makes sense. This is why I love Kubrick!!
shareDid you read the rest of the article? (pausing the scene we true obsessives do) - some interesting tidbits in there that hint at a few deeper themes in the film. A few mistakes in the article and they do seem intentional. My take on the mistakes is that the article was rushed out (she died at four in the arvo apparently..when does Bill find out?) to facilitate the cover up.
Buy The Ticket, Take The Ride
I also paused and some sentences were deliberately repeated.
shareIt wasn't Kubrick that did this, it was his team. This is the correct spelling in England.
shareThis is going to sound crazy, but that 's' is in there for the number coding of the headline. Look up the term 'gematria' if you have a chance. Anyway, the official headline in the movie is 'Ex-beauty queen in hotel drugs overdose'. If you take all the values of all the letters in that phrase and add them together, it equals 420. The drug reference is pretty explanatory, but if you dig a bit deeper, you will see what '42' means. The word 'Freemason' equals 42, and zeros don't count in numerology (Freemasons are numerologists, practice gematria, and ritualistically sacrifice people and perform many other rituals like the ones depicted in this movie). You add the letter values a bit differently in this method, where each value is reduced to one digit then added. For instance, F = 6, which remains, but R = 18, so it becomes 1 + 8 = 9, and so on.
Whether Kubrick was a Freemason or not remains to be seen, however I'm positive he knew about them being in an around Hollywood for so many years and being a absolute genius.

Amanda Curran got high on her own supply
shareWow, Kubrick knew about 420! He really is a genius director.
sharewhat makes this interesting to me is that Kubrick credits a Journalistic Consultant in the movie.
So whatever was done with headlines and text must've been on purpose.
Poor "Mandy" aka Amanda Curran... she got lucky to survive the overdose but then there was the second party..
I always wonder how she knew it was Bill under the mask? Anyway the more I watch this film the more I think she gladly volunteered her life away. There is no other way out for her in that forced lifestyle : (
