I deeply love this film, and don't quite know why

One of my top 10 films of all time, yet if someone asked me to explain why, I couldn't quite articulate it. Just creates a unique feeling unlike most every other film, that is complex but not entirely unpleasant, like a dream that reveals something bracing but truthful about oneself. i don't know why I love it, but you'll never convince me it's not a masterpiece. I wonder if other people feel this way.

i know where u are coming from

you have to sit down and watch the whole movie in silence maybe with a bottle of wine and concentrate, total concentration, it is very relaxing and therefore rewarding

When i first saw it I felt the same way.
Ive watched it maybe 20 times and quite often just watch my favourite scenes cause theres so much to appreciate about it. Its beautiful and ambiguous. And after going through essays about it and reading these forums I understand it more.

Feel the exact same way. This and Mulholland Dr are in my top 10 and give that same feeling

It's like that Bunuel quote about Clockwork being 'the only film about what the modern world really means'

Eyes Wide Shut is like the same thing for the turn of the century, and a pre-cursor to the nature of the post-millenium.
