shouldve been Kubricks action movie

Kubrick did just about every genre: SciFi , Horror, Historical, war, etc but didn't do an 80s/90s style action thriller

EWS could've been that movie

Simply rejig the script so the syndicate (lets call them that) kidnap Nicole, so Cruise has to go back to the mansion and take out the bad guys in an everyman action way - basically Die Hard in a mansion full of high society sexual deviants . set at Christmas

1 ~ if it's a Die Hard clone, duh on "set at Christmas".
2~ your whole concept (1 aside) is pure genius.
Imagine Cruise infiltrating the mansion and some naked old dude with a mask attacks him with his hard on. That's some crazy action better than Easter Promises right there.
And it's an endless ocean of one liners, like "Nailed you!" or " Say hello to my little friend".

He did pay homage to "Live and Let Die" and "True Lies" in this movie.

This was Kubrick’s take on the “sex thriller” genre that was popular in the late 1980s/early 1990s. Movies like Fatal Attraction, Presumed Innocent, Final Analysis, Basic Instinct, Disclosure, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle. Eyes Wide Shut is the perfection of that subgenre just as The Shining is the perfection of the “slasher horror” genre of the 1970s/early 1980s, 2001: A Space Odyssey is the perfection of the 1950s/1960s “space adventure” genre, and A Clockwork Orange is the perfection of the psychedelic genre of the late 1960s/early 1970s.
