Was Kubrick influenced by The Godfather movies or trying to make some kind of parallel connection between Godfather and Eyes Wide Shut? I recently rewatched The Godfather series, and each film begins with a long party sequence like Eyes Wide Shut.

I don't think he was trying to make any parallel connection. Being a professional, I'm sure he watched the Godfather movies. If and how much he was influenced by them is anyone's guess. Artists effect other artists.
